Two teenagers have been arrested following a huge warehouse fire in Tunbridge Wells.

The blaze - which broke out on the evening of Friday, May 16 - devastated the two-storey building on Park Road which was demolished the following day.

At its peak, 40 firefighters were tackling the blaze, which was one of the biggest in the town for years.

Sixteen neighbouring residents were evacuated while the fire was contained. Crews were at the scene until 6.30am the following day.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "The men, both aged under 16, have been arrested in connection with this incident. They have both been bailed, pending further enquiries, until June, 23."

Residents said the building had been derelict for at least nine years but believed it was last used by the construction and rubber extrusion company Baines.
