Three teenagers have been arrested after a man in his 70s died at an allotment.
Police were called to an area off Southwood Road in Tunbridge Wells at around 10pm yesterday (July 10) to reports of an intruder.
Officers discovered a man in his 70s who required treatment for a suspected medical episode following an alleged altercation with one of the suspects.
Paramedics also attended and the pensioner died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
Three teenage boys were arrested in connection with suspected burglary offences and have been taken into custody.
An investigation is underway and a cordon is currently in place.
The newly elected MP for Tunbridge Wells, Mike Martin, wrote in a statement on X: “I was deeply saddened to hear of the fatal incident at Tuxford Road allotments last night and am being kept informed by the Police Borough Commander.
“I would ask that everyone gives the police the space to conduct their investigation.”
The three teens were bailed until October pending further investigations.
