An exhibition which attracted more than 148,000 visitors to a Tunbridge Wells shopping centre has scooped an award.
‘Titanic in Photographs’ told the captivating story of the famous vessel - from conception to her tragic demise - with large scale images and a world class display of 130 original artefacts.
It ran at Royal Victoria Place last summer, and landed the organisers a Revo Purple Apple Award, which rewards effective shopping and town centre marketing. The events category had 34 shortlisted nominees.
Marc Burchett, marketing manager of Royal Victoria Place and organiser of the exhibition said: “We are delighted and extremely proud to have once again been awarded a prestigious Purple Apple Award as this builds upon the success of our previous win in 2016 for our community art project ‘Victoria At 21’.
"The Titanic In Photographs Exhibition enabled us to create a unique and engaging event which spanned the generations at the same time as providing an educational event for children during the school holidays.”
The award was handed over at a glitzy ceremony in London last Thursday.
