Popular sandwich chain Pret a Manger is to reopen one of its Kent branches on Monday.
The outlet on Mount Pleasant Road in Tunbridge Wells will be welcoming hungry customers once again as it becomes the latest firm to announce it's reopening a raft of stores.
In all a further 71 branches of Pret nationwide will be opening for takeaway and delivery, following on from selected KFC and McDonald's restaurants in the county beginning operations again.
In a statement on its website, the lunchtime favourite said: "The Pret experience for both our customers and teams will continue to feel very different.
"For example, each shop will be fitted with perspex screens at the tills, we will restrict the number of customers in our shops, we’ll provide hand sanitiser for customers, and face coverings to our team members who prefer to wear one."
The move comes amid widespread speculation that some gentle easing of lockdown measures to combat Covid-19 will be announced tomorrow.
Both businesses and customers appear eager to get our fast-food favourites back on the menu.
When KFC reopened its branch in Broadstairs chicken fans flocked to the restaurant, leaving shoppers trying to get to the nearby Asda stuck in traffic and sparking a police call-out as officers tried deal with the congestion.
Not all food chains have started to reopen. Sandwich chain Subway closed its stores across the country on March 23 and is yet to begin trading again.
