Garage worker Koci Selamaj, 36, appeared in court this morning accused of murdering the school teacher.
It is claimed her attacker used a 2ft long weapon to strike her repeatedly before carrying her away unconscious.
A post-mortem examination has yet to confirm the exact cause of her death but the attack was said to have involved “extreme violence”.
A police cordon is in place on Dundale Road near the A21, and a spokesman from G J & J Miles farm said police told them this morning their investigation would last three days.
She said: "I cannot see anything from here but there are lots of police cars at Kipping's Cross."
"The road is closed for traffic coming through," she added.
"But it is alright for us to come and go.
"Apparently if someone is coming to see us, they can tell somebody at Kipping's Cross and police will let them through if they have a genuine reason."
When asked when police approached them to explain they were investigating, she said: "This morning, late morning.
"A policeman came round and said what they will be doing."
One business owner on the road, who has not been on site today, says he has been informed by nearby residents drones have been spotted flying around.
The person, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "A nearby resident contacted me, saying police have closed the road.
"They are not on my land but I know they (the police) had some drones flying around.
"I'm half-tempted to drive up there but, with the fuel situation, I'm not sure it's worth the risk.
"They probably wouldn't tell me anything anyway."
