Corry handed Lions skipper honour
14:45, 07 June 2005
MARTIN CORRY has been selected as the captain of the British and Irish Lions for the match against Taranaki on Wednesday.
The former Tunbridge Wells Grammar School pupil has been handed the honour by coach Sir Clive Woodward after Lawrence Dallaglio was forced home with an injured ankle.
Corry realised one ambition when he was first made England captain for the Six Nations match against Italy in March, but this latest news means he could now fulfill another boyhood dream and lead out the touring Lions against the mighty All Blacks.
