Football legend to speak at sports dinner

FORMER Scotland and Manchester United goal-poaching king Denis Law will be the guest speaker at a West Kent Sporting Club dinner in Tunbridge Wells on Thursday, November 21.
The event will be the third dinner in aid of Bells Yew Green Cricket Club development fund.
Mike Cowan, the former Yorkshire fast bowler who shared the new ball with Fred Trueman and now an accomplished after-dinner comedian, will join Law at the top table.
The pair will be kept in order by Bells Yew Green chairman and raconteur, Bob 'The Cat' Bevan, who will host the evening.
Tickets for the men-only, black tie dinner at the Spa Hotel cost £50 (members £45) with all proceeds going to Bells Yew Green Cricket Club. For more details telephone 01892 750094.
