Television presenter Adrian Chiles is facing some unflattering comparisons following an appeal to find a suspected burglar.

Police released images of a man after cash and jewellery were stolen in a burglary in Hawkhurst last week.

But it didn't take long for social media users to spot some similarities between the picture and the former ITV football host.

Facebook users were quick to respond with some japes.

One pointed out: "Adrian Chiles has let himself go."

Another user was slightly more vague, writing: "Looks like a TV presenter".

Fortunately Mr Chiles, who is rumoured to be dating Canterbury MP Rosie Duffield, was not the only face that sprang to mind.

Others compared the pictured man to Wayne Rooney, Benny Hill, or a relative of Cbeebies favourite Mr Tumble.

Mr Chiles' management team has been approached for a comment.
