A motorcyclist died while attempting to overtake slower-moving traffic, an inquest has heard.
Paulo Rodrigues, 51, was riding his green Kawasaki motorcycle when it collided with an oncoming white Fiat Panda on Maidstone Road, in Marden.
He died on Sunday, September 8 from a traumatic brain injury, severe head injury and multiple traumas, a coroner was told.
His daughter, Shanie Rodrigues has launched a GoFundMe appeal to raise money for a service to celebrate his life.
She described her father, who was originally from Africa, as “a unique person who touched so many lives directly and indirectly.”
She said: “We are all deeply heartbroken. He was so loved by everyone; we would like to give him the best send-off he deserves.”
Meanwhile, police have renewed an appeal for witnesses to the accident. They say they want to speak to the driver of a lorry or tipper truck believed to have been in the area immediately before the collision, which happened at around 3.40pm.
Det Con Claire Fullagar said: “It has been reported the driver of an aggregates lorry stopped briefly at the scene to check on the welfare of the person in the Fiat Panda.
“Allegedly, they left their details at the scene, with another member of the public.
“We are now looking to identify the lorry driver, and encourage them, the person in receipt of their details, or anyone with information, to contact police.”
Anyone with information about the vehicle, which is not believed to have been involved in the collision itself, is urged to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01622 798538, quoting reference HW/CF/096/24. You can also email sciu.td@kent.police.uk.
Motorists with dashcam and residents with private CCTV are also asked to check for relevant footage.
The inquest was opened at Oakwood House in Maidstone and adjourned until February 4.
