Firefighters were called to a Goudhurst home after a wood burner fire got out of control.
One crew arrived at the property in Ranters Lane shortly after 3.40pm, yesterday.
The owner had managed to get out of the house and call 999 for help.
The team used specialist chimney equipment to tackle the small blaze before checking to see if the flames had spread with a thermal imaging camera.
They left the scene at around 4.30pm.
