Traffic delays while Southern Water carries out repairs near Five Oak Green
12:40, 10 May 2016
Motorists are warned of 'significant tailbacks' while Southern Water carries out emergency works at a pumping station near Five Oak Green.
Following a technical problem with a pump last night a tanker was sent to Five Oak Green Road to remove waste and ensure the site could operate as normal while repairs are carried out.
The measures were taken to protect homes and the environment and to ensure customers could continue to use services as normal.
A Southern Water spokesman said: "Our tankers are very large and in order to try and minimise disruption to road users we have set up temporary traffic management.
"Unfortunately the traffic lights have failed which has caused significant tailbacks. We apologise to road users for disruption."
KCC Highways is also at the scene.
Disruption has now cleared.
