Flooding in Hawkenbury closes New Barn Road for up to five days after heavy rain and wind

A rural road has been closed for the rest of the week due to flooding.

New Barn Road in Hawkenbury has been shut from today following downpours.

Kent County Council Highways has said the road could be shut for up to five days due to flood damage.

It will be closed between Maidstone Road and Four Oaks Road.

There is no alternative route.

Vehicles were seen trying to make it through the flooded road earlier today.

The weather has caused damage across the county after heavy winds and rain.
