A229 High Street, Staplehurst, open following crash

Police are hunting a driver who left the scene of an accident which left two people in hospital.
The A229 High Street in Staplehurst was shut in both directions between Marden Road and the community centre due to the incident involving a car and van at around 8am.
A witness said the accident happened at the crossroads and police and ambulance crews were in attendance.
Police officers along with parish councillors were seen turning traffic around before the road reopened just after 12.30pm.
Arriva buses said it was unable to run through the village due to the “police incident” earlier but is now running its usual weekend timetable.
Police say the two people’s injuries are not life threatening.
