Kittens and mum found left in ditch between Collier Street and Marden
00:01, 30 June 2014
A litter of five kittens and their young mum were rescued from a country lane after being dumped.
They were found in a ditch between Collier Street and Marden by Ann Fuller days after the RSPCA said Kent was among the worst areas in the country for animal cruelty.
Mrs Fuller, of East Peckham, said a vet revealed that the mother was about nine months old.
She said: “I was fuming. How could anyone do that? She is just a baby herself.”
No shelter could take the cats, but friends have rallied round, with Five Oak Green Village Stores, where Mrs Fuller works, donating food and litter. She has found homes for four of the kittens.
She said a friend also found five kittens in a lane near Hollingbourne.
If you would like the mother or last kitten call Mrs Fuller on 01622 871853.
