Biker aged 19 dies in collision with a tractor in Sissinghurst

A motorcyclist has been killed after a collision with a tractor.
The 19-year-old died at the scene of the crash in Common Road, Sissinghurst, yesterday (Wednesday).
The accident involving a white Honda XL125 motorbike and a green John Deere tractor happened just before 12.15pm.
The road remained closed for a number of hours and all traffic, including bus services, were diverted.
The name of the dead man has not been released, although his next of kin have been informed.
Police are now appealing for witnesses and CCTV and dashcam footage, which can be submitted via an online police portal.
Anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to the police, is urged to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01622 798538, quoting reference EX/YP/081/24.

The Rev Peter Deaves, vicar at Trinity Church in Sissinghurst, posted on Facebook saying: “Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has been affected by this tragic accident.”
He said the church would be open till 5pm for anyone who wanted to stop in and pause, pray, or light a candle in remembrance.
