Alleged attack on police officers as they make arrest off Woodbury Road, Hawkhurst

Police are alleged to have been headbutted, kicked and punched, with one said to have been bitten on the hand as a man was being arrested.
Charges have been brought against a 21-year-old man who is accused of assaulting several officers who were called to a disturbance in Hawkhurst on July 4.
The suspect was found in an outbuilding off Woodbury Road, Hawkhurst.
It is alleged as the man was being arrested, a constable was punched in the face.
The suspect was detained and taken to hospital for treatment to a leg injury but, on arrival, it is reported further attempts were made to kick and headbutt police, with one officer bitten on the hand.
Cameron Jeffery, 21, of Vale Road, Hawkhurst, was taken into custody and charged with four counts of assaulting an emergency worker.
He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on July 6 and was granted conditional bail. His next hearing will be at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on July 26.
