Road between Staplehurst and Cranbrook closed after crash

A road has been closed after reports of an accident involving a car and a motorbike.
The A229 Cranbrook Road was shut in both directions.
At 5pm a travel report said there was very slow traffic due to the accident which involved a car and a motorcyclist between Grandshore Lane and Cork Lane.
Witnesses writing on social media also suggested a motorcyclist had been involved.
The road reopened just before 10pm.
Police and the South Coast Ambulance Service have been contacted for a comment.
