A man was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after an extreme case of road rage in a country lane.
The victim was driving his van along Cradducks Lane in Staplehurst when he met a 4x4 coming in the opposite direction at around 3pm yesterday.
The cream-coloured vehicle stopped and then suddenly rammed the van, pushing it backwards for around 10 metres.
Upon getting out of his vehicle, the driver was pinned against his van by the other vehicle, which then drove off towards Headcorn Road.
He was later airlifted to a London hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
Detective Sergeant Tom Daveney of Maidstone C.I.D. said: "Investigators would like to hear from anybody who may know the driver of the four-wheel drive vor might have seen it in the Staplehurst area.
"Anyone who was in the village at the time of the incident with dash cam fitted to their vehicle should also get in contact."
