Fast food giant Subway is set to open a new branch in Staplehurst tomorrow (Friday).
The chain will be opening the new seven-days-a-week store inside the Spar in The Parade, in the centre of the village, with the creation of 12 jobs.
Hemina Haque, Subway development agent for Kent and Surrey, said: “Like Subway, Spar is a global brand with a local touch, so we’re delighted.
“The opening of this store in Staplehurst is a great example of how well a Subway store can integrate into a non-traditional location, and we’re sure that the partnership will be a great success.”
Matthew Teague, food development manager at A.F. Blakemore, which runs the Spar, said: “The simple operations that are involved in running a Subway franchise and the convenience offer make it a perfect fit for these style locations.
"We’re excited about the opening and hope to see local residents and visitors to the area coming in to try it out.”
The company announced earlier this year it had plans to open dozens of new stores around Kent, including one in West Malling and another in Kings Hill.
