Staff and members at a sports and fitness club were evacuated from the premises today following a fire.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called at around 11.09am to Risebridge Health and Sports Club, Goudhurst, after an electrical fault sparked a fire in the swimming pool plant room.
On arrival crews were faced with smoke issuing out of the building and removed 100 liters of swimming pool chemicals as a safety precaution.
The firefighters tackled the blaze in the ground floor plant room of the Ranters Lane site using breathing apparatus, a hose real jet and a thermal imaging camera to isolate the incident.
Management followed the correct procedure to evacuate those on the premises, which was then allowed to naturally ventilate of smoke.
Crews made the scene safe and left shortly before 12pm.
