Organisers of a show celebrating military vehicles of land air and sea say they are monitoring an impending weather warning.

The Met Office has issued a yellow wind warning for Saturday, when planes are set to fill the sky at The Combined Ops Military and Air Show at Headcorn Aerodrome.

With flying displays and parachute jumps set to take place across the weekend, the event says it is monitoring the weather warning on an hourly basis.

A spokesman from the event said: "The Met Office forecast for tomorrow, Saturday 10th only, may well put most of the aircraft outside their legal limits to fly but, just as they were back in 1940 the pilots and crews are all ready to scramble if it’s at all possible once the all-clear is given.

"Luckily the Tanks, Jeeps and hundreds of military vehicles will all be within limits."

Spitfires, Hurricanes and Tiger parachute jumps all feature among the event's two day flying programme.

Exact times are not confirmed due to the weather, but are expected to take place between 11am and 5pm.
