Woman, 74, dies after fatal crash on A262 Goudhurst Road in Cranbrook

An elderly driver has died after a two-car crash.
Emergency services were called to the A262 Goudhurst Road in Cranbrook at around 2.30pm yesterday after a VW T-Roc and blue Skoda Yeti collided.
The road remained sealed off in both directions until around 8.30pm to allow investigation works to be carried out, vehicles to be recovered and the scene to be cleared.
The crash happened near the junction of Whitewell Lane and a 74-year-old woman and 80-year-old man were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The woman, who was driving the VW T-Roc, later died in hospital, while the elderly man remains there in a stable condition.
Police are now appealing to anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing to anyone with information to contact them, by calling 01622 798538 and quoting reference HW/HG/020/23.
