Community festival IntraFest celebrates the Intra area of Medway, between Chatham and Rochester, with music, arts and culture

Celebrate Medway's hidden gem with community-led festival, IntraFest.
IntraFest is a three-day festival, created by the community of Medway’s Intra area and supported by Medway Council, showcasing incredible bands, DJs, performers and more.
This music festival takes place in the heart of Chatham across a number of much-loved venues such as Poco Loco, Sun Pier House, the Nag’s Head and the Intra Community Arts Venue.
The Intra High Street area, which links the towns of Chatham and Rochester from Star Hill to Sun Pier, is now part of the government-funded Heritage Action Zone programme.
The £95 million scheme aims to breathe new life into underdeveloped high streets with arts programmes, creative opportunities and education open to all ages, abilities and circumstances.
The idea is to help the area become a cultural and creative hub with a mix of artists, creatives and makers occupying under-used historic buildings.
As part of the programme, IntraFest hopes to bring together local artists and musicians, as well as independent businesses such as pubs, cafes, shops and churches, for a weekend of cultural and creative celebration.
The festival kicks off at Sun Pier House and the Intra Arts, with performances from the students of Trinity School and a Drink, Dance and Design workshop where you can make your own t-shirt.
There will also be a late-night DJ set at Poco Loco from Some Kinda Kulcha, music from rock trio Gianni Scalera and The Jury at the Nag’s Head and a Cher tribute act at The Ship.
Throughout the weekend, visitors from Medway and beyond can enjoy activities and performances such as family arts and crafts classes, open mic nights, classical musicians, up-and-coming singer-songwriters, DJ sets, band showcases, spoken word and jazz evenings, and musical and street dance workshops.
Show your community spirit with a fun-filled weekend of Kent arts and culture.
IntraFest takes place at various venues in Chatham from Friday, July 15 to Saturday, July 17. Ticket prices vary depending on the event and venue. Find out more online here.
