Organisers of a series of live music nights, created as a joint initiative between a theatre and a music venue, hope to stage their first since the second national lockdown the day after it is scheduled to end.
Tunbridge Wells band Lady Bird, whose debut EP was released through Slaves' record label, are set to play the live music night to mark the end of Lockdown 2, on Thursday, December 3, at the Assembly Hall Theatre in the town.
The event is part of Forum Nights, a residency project by the Forum live music venue in Tunbridge Wells at the theatre, which had to be halted when lockdown was announced.
The one-off performance by the band, whose EP Social Potions was the first to be signed by Slaves’ Girl Fight Records label, will see them perform the socially-distanced gig with friends Harvey Marwood and JC Palmer.
The three-piece punk act whose music blends tones of The Streets and Ian Dury have also recorded a session for Radio 1's Huw Stephens.
The Forum said of the gig: "What better way to celebrate our freedom?"
The theatre has limited, social distanced seating prepared for when it reopens, which is currently expected to be when lockdown is due to end on Wednesday, December 2. It had managed to reopen for a few weeks after the enforced closure earlier this year before this latest closure.
