A black comedy rock musical based on an 80s cult film starring Winona Ruder and Christian Slater comes to the county this week.
Following two West End seasons and a WhatsOnStage award for best new musical, Heathers The Musical will be coming to Canterbury's Marlowe Theatre for its first national tour.
The stage show is based on the 1988 cult film which starred Winona Ryder and Christian Slater.
It tells the story of Westerberg High’s Veronica Sawyer, who is just another nobody dreaming of a better day. But when she joins the beautiful and impossibly cruel Heathers, her dreams of popularity may finally come true. Mysterious teen rebel JD teaches her that it might kill to be a nobody, but it is murder being a somebody.
The show stars Rebecca Wickes as Veronica Sawyer; Simon Jordon as JD and Maddison Firth, Merryl Ansah and Lizzy Parker as the Heathers.
The show, which is produced by Bill Kenwright and Paul Taylor-Mills, previously enjoyed two record-breaking West End seasons, and has music and lyrics are by award-winning writing team, Laurence O’Keefe and Kevin Murphy. Choreography is by Thriller Live’s Gary Lloyd.
Heathers The Musical will be at the Marlowe Theatre from Tuesday, September 28 to Saturday, October 2. Book tickets at marlowetheatre.com or call the box office on 01227 787787.
