Two new attractions are set to be opened at Leeds Castle this month, as part of its 900th anniversary celebrations.
CBeebies presenter Ben Cajee will open a new adventure playground and an adventure golf course as part of a series of anniversary events during this year on Saturday, April 13.
The Knights’ Stronghold playground will be is a wooden replica of Leeds Castle with spiralling slides, fireman’s poles, giant cargo nets and zip wires.
Designed for children up to the age of 14, and will include a new shop and seating areas for parents to watch their children play.
The castle is also set to become one of the only heritage attractions in the country to open its very own adventure golf course.
The course has been based on the castle, with more challenging holes themed to daily attractions, such as falconry and the maze.
Using artificial grass, rocks, sand and planting by the gardening team, this beautiful and fully accessible new attraction will be open for visitors to enjoy, all year round, whatever the weather.
Adventure Golf will be near the maze and costs a small extra charge for games lasting around 40 minutes.
TV presenter and sports enthusiast Ben Cajee, who worked at Lord's Cricket Ground before joining CBeebies, will be at the castle for the opening at noon and to meet younger visitors.
Arrive early to explore the new attractions and get a selfie with Ben.
The highlight of the celebrations at the castle will be the Classical Concert on Saturday, July 13, with a specially commissioned fanfare and a carnival of history on Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28.
