The Big East Kent Bike Ride, organised by the KM Charity Team, has raised almost £9,000 for causes across the county.
The bike ride, which saw nearly 300 participants cycle either 50k or 100k routes, started and finished at Betteshanger Park in Deal on Sunday, April 24.
Every year, the KM Charity Team hold the bike ride and offer cyclists the chance to help raise money for a good cause of their choice, or simply tick a challenge off their bucket list.
The money raised - which so far has totalled almost £9,000 - goes towards the great work the charity team carries out with children and schools across Kent, as well as a number of other local charities.
Speaking of the bike ride, the charity team said: “The people who came together in East Kent to participate in the KM Charity Team East Kent Bike Ride didn’t just see it as an opportunity to go on a bike ride, it was something so much more special than that.
“Behind every person there was a story, and there were so many stories! There were grandparents enjoying the ride with their grandchildren, fathers with daughters, partners, best friends, old friends, and solitary riders simply challenging themselves.
“It was an absolute privilege to be there at the end and share their success and their stories, to take their celebratory photos and send them on their way with their medals.”
For those who can’t wait to take part again, or if you missed the chance to get involved this time, you won’t be waiting too long as plans for the West Kent Bike Ride are already underway.
The West Kent Bike Ride usually takes place in the autumn and details will be confirmed by the KM Charity Team soon.
