Winter Social dance music event at Kent Life, Maidstone featuring Dusky
13:00, 24 February 2015
DJ and producer duo Dusky are headlining a major dance festival taking place at one of the county's biggest tourist attractions.
The Winter Social will be held for one night only at Kent Life on Saturday, February 28, boasting a line-up of big names that includes Maidstone-born DJ Nic Fanciulli, owner of Saved Records and one of the main organisers.
Hot Since 82, Maya Jane Coles, Davide Squillace and Matthias Tanzmann are all on the bill and Kent performers will include Scott Rozario and Rob Cockerton.
But it’s London duo Dusky who are expected to cause the biggest stir on the back of recent crowd-pleasing track Yoohoo. With a video referencing many of the 1990s’ iconic flyers for all-nighters such as Dreamscape, Helter Skelter, Amnesia and Dance Planet, Yoohoo drew on Dusky’s deep love of classic house, techno and rave then put a contemporary spin on it.
For those who want a nostalgic, misty-eyed journey through memorable imagery from a defining time in the UK’s electronic music culture, Dusky might be just the ticket.
For dance music fans with more 2015 tastes, it’s also going to be the most exciting night on the Kent calendar for a long time. More than 2,000 revellers will head to Kent Life, just off the M20 near Maidstone, for this new version of The Social, the flagship dance event that has been held in Mote Park for the past two Septembers with line-ups boasting Carl Cox, Ben Pearce and Gorgon City.
This year, the team decided they couldn’t wait 12-months to host another of their all-day concerts – so the Winter Social was born.
To take account of the season, both stage areas will be covered, heated and fully floored.
The Winter Social will take over Kent Life, at Sandling, on Saturday, February 28 from noon to 11pm. Tickets cost from £44. Visit www.thesocialfestival.com.
Kent Life will open as normal throughout the weekend. More information at www.kentlife.org.uk
