Get ready to rock as Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Olivier Award-winning show School of Rock comes to the Marlowe Theatre.
The show, which is based on the 2003 film starring Jack Black and Sarah Silverman, will be turning up the volume in Canterbury from Tuesday, April 19 to Saturday, April 30.
Starring two Kent-based actors - Aadi Patel from Hayes and Ava Masters from Maidstone - School of Rock follows failed rockstar Dewey Finn as he turns a group of straight-A prep school students into a guitar-shredding rock band.
Musical theatre legend Andrew Lloyd Webber revealed his version of the rock ‘n’ roll family comedy in 2015. His music is accompanied by lyrics from Tony Award-nominee Glenn Slater.
The show features 14 new songs, alongside the original numbers from the film - all performed live by the band of young actors each night.
Since the tour launched last September Jake Sharp has led the adult cast as Dewey, having previously performed the role in the West End.
He is joined by Rebecca Lock as school principal Rosalie Mullins, Matthew Rowland as Dewey's best friend Ned Schneebly and Nadia Violet Johnson as Ned’s girlfriend, Patty Di Marco.
School of Rock is at the Marlowe Theatre from Tuesday, April 19 to Saturday, April 30. Book online here or call 01227 787 787.
