The internationally famous dance company Jasmin Vardimon has been based in Ashford for some years but is set to reach out to a much wider local audience.
Alongside the designer clothes shops and sweet stores at the Ashford Designer Outlet will be the company’s new pop-up space, opening this week, which promises to be a hub of activity.
It will offer dance workshops for all ages, to book from Thursday, January 16, for pre-schoolers up to the over 50s andcreative movement right up to contemporary dance for adults and masterclasses.
There will also be family workshops where visitors can explore the company’s works and term time weekly sessions could also lead to the chance to perform too.
The Jasmin Vardimon Educational Company is a charity dedicated to creating the chance for people to access dance training through a varied and inspiring programme.
The pop-up will mean both McArthurGlen Designer Outlet and Jasmin Vardimon will be able to engage more with local people, giving local schools, organisations and individuals the chance to join in.
Artistic director Jasmin Vardimon said: “We are hugely excited to be working with McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Ashford on the opening the Jasmin Vardimon Pop Up Space.
“Over the past eight years we have made a really positive impact on culture and dance education in Ashford and this will provide an opportunity to share our experience and knowledge with the wider community of Ashford and Kent. We welcome visitors to experience all that we have to offer and be involved in shaping up our participation programme ahead of the move into our new building.”
Centre manager Peter Corr added: “It’s very important to us to give back to the community in giving them unique experience when visiting the centre, as such, we are delighted to be partnering with Jasmin Vardimon Company.”
