Dreamland is set to stage its first children’s book festival and a two-day Minecraft festival.
The family-focussed events, which will be held in the next two months, are among a series of children's events set to be announced by the Margate attraction.
The book festival, which will be held on Saturday, February 16 during half term, will see Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s beloved character The Gruffalo making appearances throughout the day.
There will also be screenings of animated films by Magic Light Pictures, including Room On The Broom, Stick Man, The Highway Rat, The Gruffalo and the latest release Zog.
Primary school-aged children will be able to browse a selection of new children’s literature, and take part in creative workshops with illustrators including Emily Rand, who will host a workshop based on her new book The Lost Property Office.
There will be stories from author Julia Jarman, who penned Big Red Bath and Class Two At The Zoo.
The Margate site will also hold a two-day Minecraft festival, Minevention, on Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10.
Other announcements on events are expected soon.
