EastEnders star Samantha Womack will play Morticia in The Addams Family with Les Dennis and Carrie Hope Fletcher

EastEnders star Samantha Womack, comic Les Dennis and Les Miserables star Carrie Hope Fletcher will star in the stage show of The Addams Family in the county next year.

Samantha, who has played Ronnie Mitchell in the BBC soap, will play Morticia, while Les Dennis, who spent three years as Michael Rodwell in ITV's Coronation Street, will play Fester while Wednesday Addams will be played by You Tuber and Les Miserables star, Carrie Hope Fletcher, who played Eponine in the West End hit.

The musical comedy, with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, and characters based on ones created by Charles Addams, will come to Canterbury and Dartford next year. Further casting is to be announced.

The UK & Ireland Tour runs from April 2017, will be directed by Matthew White, and choreographed by Alistair David, who directed and choreographed Robbie Williams’s worldwide concert tour Swings Both Ways.

Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and has a shocking secret that only Gomez knows; she’s fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before — keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.
