Eight new eateries bringing a world food experience will open as part of a centre's revamp next week.
Maidstone’s newest eating out experience, LoveFood@Lockmeadow is due to open its doors with eight new offerings under one roof.
The food hall, which has cost almost £470,00, will open on Tuesday, November 2, in the unit vacated by Gourmet Burger Kitchen, the unit nextdoor and four on the opposite side, and will feature modern street-style food with a choice that spans the globe, including Thai, Jamaican, Asian, vegan and American.
The food offering, which joins Frankie & Benny's and Feathers at the site in Barker Road, will be Notorious B.R.G, making deluxe burgers; Easy Dine with a sustainable menu emphasising vegetarian and vegan food; Total Jerk Ltd with caribbean food; Funky Feast with a French/English chef; Flour Power baking cakes, flapjacks, brownies and coffee; Aroi Dee born from the Thai Orchid brand; Mr Bigs with an American-themed offer with hot dog and pizza and Moondance bar, offering alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, beverages and finger-food.
Alexa Kersting Woods, Maidstone Borough Council leisure property manager said: "After the first lockdown, we launched Kent’s only ODEON Luxe cinema... Love Food @ Lockmeadow is our next big project to come to fruition and we are so proud that it features local businesses and reflects the diversity of our cuisine in the county town. We have some wonderful tenants coming in, all with their own unique stories, passions and most of all – love of food!”
The food hall, which will have a communal seating area, is part of improvements to the centre including a terrace at a cost of £295,000 and a children’s play area at more than £100,000. A Cinema Luxe was also opened after lockdown.
