The free festival, which has been going in various guises since 1996, aims to showcase folk music and dance around Deal and Walmer.

It runs from Friday, September 20 and will see more than 40 free events in the streets, pubs, cafes and hotels.

In addition to live performances, there will also be sing and play-arounds, an open mic session, a ceilidh dance and workshops with the Deal Festival orchestra and choir.

What’s more, dozens of morris dancers from local groups will be taking to the streets for the Offcumduns Day of Dance.

The festival programme is available from the Landmark Centre and shops in Deal High Street, and at www.dealfolkbythesea.org.uk
