The trail, which takes around 90 minutes to complete, will take over Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest in Goudhurst, near Tunbridge Wells, for the festive season.

This year, the after-dark experience includes new installations such as overhead fireflies, water-based floating projections and immersive displays depicting the Northern Lights.

There will also be giant baubles hanging from the trees and the sparkling light tunnel that regular visitors might recognise from previous years.

Matthew Findlay, who is head of UK trails for Sony Music, which organises the trail, said: “We are always looking at trail designs which both complement and enhance the beautiful surroundings at Bedgebury.

"We want to create an experience which is precious for all the family and our plans for this year will be sure to provide an unforgettable evening.”

The installations at the site have been designed by a range of international and UK-based artists.

The aim of this year’s displays is to portray the forest in a majestic light using seasonal colours and inspiration taken from the picturesque landscape of the park.

The family-friendly trail also includes festive music, from Christmas carols to chart-topping hits, and there’s even a chance you might spot Father Christmas hidden among the pines as you explore the park.

There’s also food and drinks, such as hot chocolate and mulled wine, available from kiosks and the cafe.

Although the trail is expected to take most guests around 90 minutes to complete, there’s no time limit once you arrive for your selected time slot.

The Christmas at Bedgebury trail is open from Friday, November 17 to New Year’s Eve. You can book your time slot online here.

Tickets prices for adults vary from £24 to £19 depending on what time you visit, and £17 to £13 for children.
