A free festive family experience which has recycling at its heart opens this weekend.

Brickmas will be a special Christmas exhibition with a difference at The Beaney in Canterbury High Street.

Running from Saturday, December 11 to Sunday, January 2, it will feature a series of festive models which have all been created using recycled Lego bricks.

Bricks donated by the public in the autumn were sent to local schools for children to create some of the models, which also feature in a free festive trail around the city.

A lifesize Santa, his reindeer and some cheeky elves will all be on show at the exhibition, which is free to enter, although donations for future events are encouraged.

The free brick trail through the city centre has been created in partnership with Canterbury BID, and models can be spotted in shop windows until Christmas Eve. You can download a trail map here.

It's free to visit the exhibition between Saturday, December 11 to Sunday, January 2 (except Mondays when the museum is closed and Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day).
