New Year events across Kent range from discos to castle dinner parties, and a funfair to a New Year's Day dip

We’ll take a cup of kindness yet... and perhaps a cup of something stronger, when New Year’s events across the county herald 2015.
DISCO
If you want your New Year’s Eve to tick the boxes of getting your gladrags on, dancing until you drop and enjoying a tipple, then the Channel Suite at the LEAS CLIFF HALL, Folkestone is the place for you. Last year’s sell-out treated guests to an arrival drink, live band, a banquet buffet, midnight toast and disco and organisers promise to do it again. Although it may be too dark outside to appreciate the Channel views, inside there will be a magical atmosphere. With a late bar and disco until 2am, the night kicks off from 7pm. Tickets cost £40. Call 01303 228606 or email lchfunctions@leascliffhall.co.uk
HOOTENANNY
Musicians behind the Local & Live festival are staging a Hootenanny at the ASSEMBLY HALL THEATRE, Tunbridge Wells, where a third of the seating will be taken away to give more room for dancing. Party from 8pm on New Year’s Eve to the music of Origami Dinosaur, Intraverse, David Migden and the Twisted Roots and Annaca. Organiser Paul Dunton said: “This has to be one of the best line-ups we have ever staged indoors. There will be a really good party atmosphere and a well-stocked bar.” Youngsters must be accompanied by adults but it is suitable for all. Tickets cost £15. Visit www.assemblyhalltheatre.co.uk or call 01892 530613.
SHEER EXTRAVAGANCE
There are two options for New Year’s Eve at LEEDS CASTLE. Either enjoy a three-course meal before partying in the Fairfax Hall, whilst looking across the moat to the castle, for £110 per person. Or, go the whole hog and see in 2015 with chilled champagne, a four-course meal and live music from Snow Band for £195 per person. Both parties will share the spectacular view of the fireworks at midnight. You could even stay the night. Visit www.leeds-castle.com or call 01622 767855.
FAMILY FUNFAIR
Children will be love the fairground-style sideshows, balloon modelling, bouncy castle and disco on offer at MARGATE WINTER GARDENS. Popcorn and candy floss will only fuel the excitement as the build-up to midnight and the balloon net and large-screen firework projection approaches. It runs from 7.30pm on New Year’s Eve to 12.30am. Tickets cost £19.50 for adults, £16 for children and £66 for a family of two adults and two children. Visit www.margatewintergardens.co.uk or call 01843 292795.
NEW YEAR'S DIP
On New Year’s day, why not either celebrate your clear head or chase off a hangover with a dip in the sea?
The annual New Year’s Day swim is a tradition at Viking Bay, BROADSTAIRS, where it’s organised by pub landlords Jill and Ken Connell of Neptune’s Hall.
It will be the 14th time pub regulars, residents and visitors have taken to the sea in aid of the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF).
Anyone wishing to take part in the New Year’s Day Dip should meet at Neptune’s Hall at 11.30am. Call 01843 861400 or visit www.facebook.com/neptunes.hall
