First came the Great British Bake off – now it’s the turn of the Great Pottery Throw Down.
The show, presented by Sara Cox and now airing on BBC2 on Tuesday nights, features 10 potters vying to become a top potter.
Aylesford Pottery at the Friars in Aylesford will be holding an open weekend inspired by the show on Saturday, November 28 and Sunday, November 29.
You can have a go on a potter’s wheel, look at the ceramics made there which are on sale and enjoy some mulled wine and a mince pie, between 10am and 5pm on both days.
More details can be found at www.aylesfordpottery.co.uk
Also feeling inspired to get throwing is This Art of Mine in Coldblow Lane, Thurnham, near Maidstone, which is holding a beginners’ wheel throwing session on Tuesday, December 1 between 7pm and 7pm, followed by a glazing evening on Tuesday, December 15, also at 7pm to 9pm.
It costs £40 including all materials for both sessions.
