A leading folk band are playing their first gig together in a year.
Show of Hands, made up of singer songwriter Steve Knightley, instrumentalist Phil Beer and double bassist and vocalist Miranda Sykes, play at Dartford’s Orchard Theatre on Wednesday, November 19 at 7.30pm.
For much of this year Steve has pursued his Grow Your Own Gig tour of village halls, while Phil has been out on the West Country waters with his Folk Boat sailing/music workshops.
Meanwhile, Miranda has completed scores of gigs across the country – including in Kent – with mandolin maestro Rex Preston.
The Dartford gig comes hot on the heels of the band’s appearance on BBC1’s The Andrew Marr Show on Remembrance Sunday, which followed the release of their acclaimed First World War commemorative album Centenary Words & Music of the Great War.
Tickets for the gig cost from £20.
