1. Follow the egg hunt to find a chocolatey prize in the gardens of BELMONT, near Faversham, on Easter Sunday. 3. Join Peterkin the Jester on a journey back in time at DOVER CASTLE Children’s Festival. From Roman times where gladiators need new recruits, you’ll travel to medieval Dover where knights and princesses roam. Then meet Victorian toymakers and tackle the Second World War assault course, and sing along as the musicians play wartime songs. The Children’s Festival runs from Good Friday to Easter Monday, from 10am to 5pm. 4. There’s almost no end to the activities on offer at Chatham’s FORT AMHERST Easter Fair. The list includes a haunted house, quad bikes, live entertainment, tunnel tours, a bouncy castle, assault course, bunny hunts, dance workshops, historical re-enactments, emergency rescue demonstrations, face painting, contact archery and special effects tutorials! 5. Displays of rare breed hens, bunnies and traditional bands playing in the grounds just add to the ongoing fun at HEVER CASTLE throughout Easter weekend. Children can let off steam in the adventure playground and water maze, while visitors of all ages enjoy the challenge of the 100-year old Yew Maze and join the hunt for the Lindt chocolate bunnies. Then head to the restaurant for some seasonal home-cooked food and hot cross buns. The fun lasts from Good Friday to Easter Monday from 10.30am to 6pm, with last entry at 4.30pm. 6. They’re doing things differently at the HOP FARM FAMILY PARK, near Paddock Wood. There’s an Easter market and a free egg hunts throughout this weekend, plus bumper boats, a 4D cinema, bouncy castles and much more on a pay-and-play basis of between £1 to £4. 7. Just Puppets will perform a slapstick children’s production suitable for all ages at LEEDS CASTLE, near Maidstone, throughout the Easter weekend. Follow Mrs Mouse as she visits the magic cake shop to buy a birthday cake for her hundreds of baby mice. Meet her friends along the way, sing and laugh along with the characters on their adventures. For brave knights and beautiful princesses, have a go at hobby horse jousting, children’s mini battles and knight school. 8. A giant chick will task young plant hunters with navigating the world garden at LULLINGSTONE CASTLE and reporting on their discoveries. Those who successfully complete their mission will be rewarded with an Easter egg. Resident horticulturalist at the castle, near Swanley, is Tom Hart Dyke, who is something of a hero having been kidnapped in Columbia 14 years ago while hunting for a rare orchid, before thankfully being released to safety. Organiser of the plant hunt that’s going on from Saturday, to Easter Monday from noon to 5pm, Tom said: “I really want to inspire kids to follow their dreams – it’s what I’ve done. My vision of this world garden is what kept me going during my kidnap ordeal in Colombia after all.”

9. A children’s show called Bella’s Most Magical Adventure is a highlight at the RARE BREEDS CENTRE, near Ashford, this weekend. The kids will be enthralled as Bella goes on an exciting inter-active mission, and as for what happens, who knows? You’ll just have to be there.
