Canoe Wild, Fordwich, Canterbury

There's a real river adventure waiting at the site which offers canoeing, kayaking and paddleboarding. The site recently reopened with support and guidance from British Canoeing and Visit Kent with some strict hygiene measures, and some bookings are currently not being taken. Seapoint Canoe Centre, Hythe is taking bookings for one-to-one lessons or for rental to those living in the same household who are looking for an outdoor activity with a difference. There has been a phased opening and the site is offering canoes, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards for hire to members of the same household or for those paddling solo with social distancing being observed. Craft and all equipment will be sanitised at the end of each session and visitors are also asked to wash their hands before and after their time on the water. River Medway Canoes, Wateringbury

Amongst the options is both canoe and kayak hire for a journey down the River Medway with a canoe suitable for two or three people starting from £50 or from £30 for kayak hire. Start times will be varied to allow for social distancing as customers are briefed and kitted-up. There is also a pre-book hire service to allow for staggered bookings. Oyster Coast Watersports at The Haven, Long Beach, Whitstable Harbour offers a range of courses and activities including jet ski-ing and paddle boarding, the latter of which is fully booked except for some sessions in early July. Action Watersports at Lydd offers activities ranging from stand-up paddleboarding and jet ski hire to water ski-ing and flyboarding. All of its facilities, including the aqua park have now reopened. Details at actionwatersports.co.uk/

Jetstream Tours, Medway

The season has been delayed, but the company is now taking bookings for its tours, which are currently scheduled to start again on Saturday, July 4. Tours go to sites including the striking Redsand Towers, Sheppey and Tilbury. To book go to jetstreamtours.com
