For the first time in two years, a city food festival is serving up tasty treats once again.

The Canterbury Food and Drink Festival is expected to attract thousands of hungry visitors to the Dane John Gardens from Friday, September 23 to Sunday, September 25.

The highly-anticipated comeback is set to feature more than 100 traders showcasing food, drink and crafts; along with two stages of live music, a kids' area and a festival bar.

The traders will be dishing up the best produce and dishes from businesses across the county, as well as some of the best street food producers from London and the rest of the country.

The festival announced its return on Facebook earlier this year.

In a social media post, the organisers said: “This is Kent’s biggest food festival, set against the stunning backdrop of the Dane John Gardens showcasing everything to be proud of from the Garden of England, with a smattering of the brightest stars of the modern street food scene from London and beyond.

“The Canterbury Food and Drink Festival has something for everyone; young and old, students and professionals, friends and family – whether it's kicking back with an elderflower cider or a Green Hop beer, dining around the world, enjoying live music and entertainment, and or messing about in the Kids Tent.

“It’s more than just a food festival, it’s a celebration of Kent and Canterbury.”

The last time the festival took place, which was prior to the pandemic in 2019, 35,000 visitors descended on the city.

The Canterbury Food and Drink Festival takes place in the Dane John Gardens from Friday, September 23 to Sunday, September 25. Entry is free and there’s no need to book.
