Festability, an inclusive music festival for people with disabilities, is kicking off in Kent this summer.

The festival will take place at Quex Park in Birchington on Saturday, June 18 and has a jam-packed programme of live music, karaoke and attractions for families to enjoy.

Festability was started in 2018 by three Kent-based parents of disabled children who wanted to organise a live entertainment event that was inclusive of those with different disabilities.

In its first year, the festival saw 1,700 visitors descend on the park.

This year, there are a number of live music acts scheduled to appear throughout the day, including a headline performance of songs from the Greatest Showman. This spectacular finale will be complete with acrobats and dancers.

Alongside the live artists, music fans can also try their hand at karaoke, hit the dancefloor at the silent disco and learn to drum and DJ with guided workshops.

There will also be a chance for everyone to burn off their energy with a sensory play area, soft play area, sports activities - and even an adult ball pool for those who are young at heart.

If your kids are big gaming fans, they can test their skills in the gaming and VR tent and compete against other festival-goers.

There are lots of additional elements to help make sure the festival is suitable and fully inclusive, such as a quiet zone, changing suites, BSL interpreters, trained staff and ear defenders available to loan for the day.

However, the organisers are keen to emphasise that this is an event for everyone and although it is aimed at the disabled community, it is a family-friendly day for all to enjoy.

Festability takes place at Quex Park, Birchington, on Saturday, June 18 from 11am to 8pm. Book tickets online here.
