Need to keep your spirits up? Then World Gin Day is here to help.
A global celebration of all things gin, the idea is simple: get people together all around the world with a legitimate excuse to drink some gin, whether it’s in a cocktail, G&T or neat.
And Kent businesses are lending a hand too with their own events.
Copper Rivet Distillery at Chatham Maritime is holding its third annual festival on the day itself on Saturday, June 8. Guests can expect to sample the distillery’s gin through a range of cocktails.
The distillery is housed in a former pump house which was constructed in 1873. It was opened by the Russell family in 2017; the same family opened Topper’s Wine Bar in Rainham in 1979.
There will also be something for people who are not gin lovers, as Copper Rivet also makes vodka and whiskey.
Six tours will be held on the day, where people will get to experience the full distilling process from pump to bottle.
Book a tour for £14 at copperrivetdistillery.com.
Also this weekend there will be a gin tasting evening at Penshurst Place.
Learn more about the botanicals that make up your favourite gins and discover new smaller batch gins from across the county, all in the historic setting of the medieval Baron’s Hall.
The evening on Friday, June 7 starts at 5pm. Spaces at £30 per person need to be pre-booked. To book go to eventbrite.com
