Stunning images of Kent to appear in tube stations across London as tourist board Visit Kent tries to attract visitors to the Garden of England

A series of stunning images of Kent have been released in a bid to attract tourists from across London and the South East to the Garden of England.

Eye catching images of Rochester Castle, Dreamland in Margate and Shepherd Neame’s beachfront pub The Zetland Arms in Kingsdown, near Deal, are the stars of a summer advertising campaign by tourist board Visit Kent.

The shots have gone on display across London’s rail and tube network from today, while a series of videos showing Kent’s “story” have been launched in a social media push.

The annual summer campaign, now in its fifth year, has been developed with international advertising agency M&C Saatchi.

It also includes images of Ramsgate Royal Harbour, Hever Castle, Turner Contemporary, Dover Castle, Port Lympne Reserve and Botany Bay in Broadstairs.

Visit Kent chief executive Sandra Matthews-Marsh MBE said: “Our summer campaign has always aimed to surprise and intrigue viewers, and to challenge people’s perceptions of the Garden of England.

“This year, we have taken this to another level. We are sure that people will be blown away by our visuals.

“The new pictures sit perfectly with our existing images – people will see the perfect seaside pub, a commanding yet beautiful castle steeped in history, and the retro chic of Dreamland Margate which really reflects the changing face of Kent.

“Our new films tell the story behind these images, showing different travellers exploring, discovering and enjoying places and activities that many people wouldn’t believe were in Kent.”
