With Remembrance Sunday just around the corner, lots of people will be paying tribute to members of the armed forces this weekend.
We've got four memorial concerts taking place in the county so you can pay your respects and enjoy some magnificent music.
All Saints Church, Maidstone
Musicians from the award-winning Maidstone Wind Symphony will be showing their respect with a spectacular Concert of Remembrance. The programme includes a performance of Forgotten Heroes by British composer Nigel Clark, which was written in 2005 to mark 60 years since the end of World War II, and Fields of Honor performed by the wind orchestra. There will also be a number of other musical tributes, such as William Walton’s Spitfire Prelude and Fugue and Edward Elgar’s Nimrod.
Details: 7.30pm on Saturday, November 12 at All Saints Church in Maidstone. Tickets cost £15 for adults, £10 for children and are free for under 5s. Book online here.
Holy Trinity Church, Ramsgate
The Thanet Chamber Choir, a group of around 30 experienced amateur singers led by director of music Greg Tassell, will be performing a programme of remembrance music at their Hear My Prayer concert. There will be works by Henry Purcell, William Byrd, Edward Elgar, Ralph Vaughn Williams and more, all hosted inside this 19th century church. This is an afternoon concert, so perfect for those with young children.
