kmfm Breakfast presenters Garry and Chelsea to host the Kent Cricket fireworks display at the Spitfire Ground in Canterbury

00:00, 18 October 2023

Two of our very own kmfm radio presenters will be throwing a huge bonfire night celebration next month.

Garry and Chelsea, who present the kmfm Breakfast show, will be at the Spitfire Ground in Canterbury to host this year’s Kent Cricket fireworks display.

The pair are on-hand to help Kent listeners wake up and get ready for the day from 6am to 10am, Monday to Friday, with pop tunes, travel updates and competitions such as Say It and the 6am Games.

However, next month the duo will be ditching the early morning start for a night out at Canterbury’s biggest fireworks display.

The display has sold out in previous years, but it’s back with a bang on Sunday, November 5 with live music and a family fairground - and there are still some tickets available here.

If you listen to Breakfast with Garry and Chelsea between now and Thursday, October 19 you could also be in with a chance of winning tickets to the display. Find out all the details on how to enter here.

“We can’t wait to enjoy the spectacular fireworks with everyone at the Spitfire Ground,” says Chelsea. “The display will be amazing, plus there’s so much great entertainment and it will give us a chance to say hello to some of our fantastic listeners. What a great way to spend bonfire night!”

The gates will open from 4:30pm, with the fairground and live entertainment kicking off at 5pm.

There will be live music throughout the evening from local party band FNKHAUS.

The band, who are based in Herne Bay, have played at a number of events in the county, including the Faversham Hop Festival and Broadstairs Folk Week.

The group also performed at the Kent Cricket Ground fireworks in 2021.

The band, along with Garry and Chelsea, will help the crowd countdown to the fireworks display at 7:15pm.

The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, is home to the Kent County Cricket Club and is also known for putting on events, including the annual fireworks display and concerts from the likes of Michael Bublé and Olly Murs.
