With the first weekend in December upon us, lights are shining out across the county, leading the way to Christmas.
Many of the county’s towns have had their switch-ons, but Whitstable’s this weekend, on Saturday, December 4, features a special lantern-lit parade, with local youngsters and their paper lanterns leading the way.
The lights will also be illuminated on the WhitSparkle Christmas tree and there will be live performances at the harbour from 2pm.
The High Street will be closed from 4pm to 6pm, to allow the parade to make its way to the switch-on, which will be performed by Heart Radio DJ Lucy Horobin at 4.30pm.
There will be marshalls at the main closure points to help drivers with local access needs.
