BLUEWATER
Christmas skating doesn’t get much better than this. Bluewater’s ice rink covers 6,000-square feet and is inside, guaranteeing the skating will go ahead whatever the weather. It is open from Thursday, November 27, until January 4 and anyone aged over four can have a go. Booking is advised. Adult tickets start from £9, children £7.

DARTFORD
Hawley Garden Centre will be creating Dartford On Ice this year. Skating with Santa, parent and toddler sessions, skating for beginners and singles nights will all be available, along with a bar. Dartford on Ice runs until January 4. Adult tickets from £6.50.

GILLINGHAM
Silver Blades Ice Rink in Gillingham is the county’s permanent rather than seasonal ice rink. The full-size rink offers seating for more than 1,000 people and a variety of sessions, for beginners upwards, will be available.

There’s a new-for-2014 outdoor covered ice rink at Ruxley Manor Garden Centre until January 6. Atmospheric lighting and a sound system. Adult tickets from £6.99.

TUNBRIDGE WELLS
Now in its fourth year, you can wrap up warm and head to the ice rink at Calverley Grounds, Tunbridge Wells. Returning on Friday, November 21, the outdoors rink will be open seven days a week, except Christmas Day, until January 4. It’s situated within the natural amphitheatre of the park grounds and offers picturesque views.
