Philharmonia Orchestra: The Music of Harry Potter sees the film’s iconic soundtrack performed live at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury

Enjoy a magical night of enchanting music from one of the world’s most successful film franchises, Harry Potter.

Philharmonia Orchestra: The Music of Harry Potter brings the beautiful score from these iconic films to life on stage at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury.

The award-winning soundtrack from composers John Williams - known for his work on films such as E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Jaws, Jurassic Park and the Star Wars saga -, Patrick Doyle, Nicholas Hooper and Alexandre Desplat, has become synonymous with the eight-film franchise.

The Philharmonia Orchestra is known as a world-class symphony orchestra and one of London’s finest, brimming with exceptional musicians and led by Principal Conductor Santtu-Matias Rouvali.

Its group of classical musicians will recreate the music of the wizarding world in an exhilarating, moving and spectacular live performance that Hogwarts fans are sure to love.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, the first in the film series, was released in 2001 and became the highest-grossing film of the year.

The series, starring Daniel Radcliffe, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, continued until the release of the final film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, in 2011.

Based on the books by J. K. Rowling, the films notched up 12 Academy Award nominations, became one of the highest-grossing film franchises of all time, and spawned the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme parks in Universal Hollywood and Orlando.

Fans here in the UK can also visit the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, in Watford, to explore real-life sets and costumes from the films and see what it took to make this magical world a reality.

The world-famous author continues to release books - although now firmly planted in the muggle world - the most recent of which being the Ink Black Heart, the sixth instalment of her crime fiction series, Cormoran Strike.
